77 and 7 Days

 

A filmed dialogue written and directed by Malcolm Galea for the Malta International Arts Festival, 2020 (special online edition). A dark tale of loneliness and regret, 77 and 7 Days asks the question: what would you do if you could live your life all over again?

20,000 Reasons

 

A feature-length romantic comedy written by Malcolm Galea that was filmed and released in 2016​. 20,000 Reasons was featured in a number of international film festivals and tells a hilarious and heartwarming story about love and marriage on the island of Malta.

Venice Biennale Documentary

 

In 2017, Malta participated in the Venice Biennale after an absence of 17 years. Malcolm Galea was engaged to write the documentary that was made about the Malta Pavilion and the artists who exhibited their work there.

Hypogeum AV Presentation

 

The Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum is a 5,000 year old underground necropolis and Malta's most haunting and exclusive prehistoric site. Malcolm Galea was tasked with writing the script for a 360 degree audiovisual presentation that visitors view before descending into the temple.

Oħloq Kultura

 

Devised by Malcolm Galea, this series of interactive work-shops taught primary school-age children about culture by guiding them to create their own imaginary cultures. The multi-year project concluded with an exhibition and a diplomacy discussion at the Malta parliament.

The workshops were run by More or Less Theatre in conjunction with the Valletta 2018 Foundation

Communal Thoughts

 

Devised and developed by Malcolm Galea in 2016, Communal Thoughts is an interactive exhibition that highlights people's most intimate thoughts.

 

An anonymous online questionnaire enabled participants to write about whatever was on their mind. These thoughts were crafted into audio monologues, recorded by actors, and played in public restrooms.

Junior Eurovision Song Contest, 2016

 

In 2016, the Junior Eurovision Song Contest was held in Malta for the second time. Malcolm Galea was commissioned to write the presenters' script for the live show.

The Everlink

 

Combining an exciting narrative and animations with original music played live by a 40-piece orchestra, The Everlink was a unique cinematic experience that saw Malcolm Galea write this story about a journey through memory, heritage and time.
